History of the Dolce & Gabbana brand: the epic story of a Haute Couture house
Founded by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in 1985, the Italian luxury house Dolce & Gabbana achieved true success from its inception with its line of prestigious ready-to-wear for women. The style is glamorous, sensual, and of rare distinction. The label gained worldwide recognition for its unique couture craftsmanship thanks to film and music celebrities like Monica Bellucci, Carla Bruni, Isabella Rossellini, and Madonna. In the clothing sector, the luxury brand launched its first menswear collection in 1990 and its second line, D&G, featuring more urban designs, in 1994. It was in 2001 that the Haute Couture line for children, D&G Junior, was born: today, it caters to girls and boys aged 0 to 14.
