History of the Desigual brand
The adventure began in the early 80s, when Thomas Meyer, a young 20-year-old Swiss designer, on vacation in Ibiza, decided to customize t-shirts to sell to tourists on the island. Creative, he made a buzz, first in Germany by personalizing old denim jackets with pieces of fabric, then by launching a clothing collection mixing patchworks, floral printed fabrics and bright colors. It was then that he found the name of his brand: Desigual meaning different, atypical in Catalan. The success was immediate: the brand attracted women who wanted to dress differently with fun and original outfits, which stood out from all those of other brands in the ready-to-wear world.
The brand's unique logo
